Yes, That Desk Job Makes You Look Fat
by TrainerDiva on June 25, 2010
Did you know your desk job can actually be bad for your health? Recent studies have linked too much sitting to back pain, repetitive stress injuries, obesity, and even an increased risk of diabetes and heart disease.
So what's a desk jockey to do? If quitting your job and becoming a park ranger isn't in the cards, there are a number of steps you can take to stay healthy at work. Here's two to get you started!
• Get Movin'
Try to pack more movement into your day by taking several breaks, even for just 10-15 minutes to stretch and walk. Remember that a little can go a long way.
• Ditch your Desk Chair
If you're feeling brave, try sitting on a well-inflated stability ball for at least 30 minutes during your day. Don't be intimidated by a little typing and toning! Now that's real productivity at work.
Happy Training!

Great tip! I sit at a desk all day and I have a stability ball.
Great Lisa! It's amazing what a small change like that will do for the rest of your day…
